Miller and Miss Ireland for Marathon
Rehab has announced that Eric Miller and Blathnaid McKenna will represent the organisation by competing in two of the country’s biggest sporting events this year – the Lifestyle Sports - adidas Dublin Marathon and the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon respectively.
Former Ireland and Leinster rugby star, Eric Miller, will undertake a new sporting discipline this October when he competes in the Lifestyle Sports - adidas Dublin Marathon. Since retiring from professional rugby, Eric and his wife Jenny established their own personal training business, Clinical Fitness, and he sees representing Rehab in the marathon as an opportunity to set a new challenge for himself whilst supporting one of Ireland’s leading charitable organisations.
Reigning Miss Ireland, Blathnaid McKenna, will have to juggle catwalk commitments with her new training regime as she represents Rehab in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon on June 2nd.
Commenting at the announcement, Angela Kerins, Rehab Group Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled that Eric and Blathnaid have agreed to fly the flag for Rehab. We are delighted to have them as ambassadors for our organisation and wish them the very best of luck in their preparations for the event. We will be supporting them all the way to the finish line.”
Also commenting, Eric Miller said: “Running a marathon is a major personal challenge but it’s made easier by the fact that by representing Rehab there will be a very worthy beneficiary and I hope to do them proud come race day in October!”
Speaking at the announcement Blathnaid McKenna said: “The mini marathon is something I have wanted to compete in for some time and when approached by Rehab I jumped at the chance to realise this goal and to support an organisation whose aims and goals I believe in.”
