Rael Kiyara wins in Madrid

In the recent Madrid Marathon on April 27th Rael Kiyara Kguriatukei, of Kenya, was the winner in 2:36:15. Deratu Tula, of Ethiopia, finished second in 2:36:32. Kenza Dahmani, of Algeria, was third in 2:39:38. Rael Kiyara Kguriatukei showed great promise when she recorded a time of 2:33:27 when finishing third in Dublin last October. In the men's race Jose Manuel Martinez, 36 of Spain, won in 2:12:42. Martinez ran alone after passing the 34K mark on his way to the victory. Frederick Cherono, of Kenya, finished second in 2:13:42. Abraham Keter, of Kenya, was third in 2:14:48.
