Kealy looks to Net Another Win in the Park
Record Crowds for Lifestyle Sports adidas Half Marathon
Friends and running foes Annette Kealy (Raheny Shamrocks) and Pauline Curley (Tullamore Harriers) are set to go head to head yet again on Saturday, in the Lifestyle Sports-adidas Half Marathon in the Phoenix Park. Defending champion Kealy goes into the race on the back of success at former Irish Olympian Curley\'s expense in the 5-Mile back in July.
Both women will be using Saturday\'s race as a barometer for the upcoming Dublin Marathon, with the 30th Anniversary running taking place just 30 days after Saturday\'s half marathon.
With the Josphat Boit, winner of both the 5 and 10 mile races in July and August respectively, missing on Saturday, all eyes will be on Galway’s Brian Maher to see if he can improve on his third placing in the previous two races in the series.
With over 8,000 due to take part in Saturday\'s race, organisers are urging runners to give themselves plenty of travel time to ensure they are there for the 10am start, and to avail of the shuttle bus service where possible. A staggered start will be in use as follows:
Wave 1 – Sub 100 minutes
Wave 2 – 100 to 120 minutes
Wave 3 – 120 minutes +
