Breakfast Run Readies Runners for the Big 30

The sun shone, and the rain only made a brief appearance for todays Breakfast Run, the annual 3k warm up run in Clontarf the morning before the Marathon.

As ever, there was a host of nationalities represented, with flags from Canada, Wales, Italy, France, Germany among others being waved by the hundreds of particpants.

For once, no visitor seemed to get caught out by the extra hour this morning, and there was a huge cheer as they set off from outside Westwood in Clontarf at 9.30.

Post race breakfast with Irish music and a chance to exchange stories and teeshirts with fellow runners from around the world is as much a part of the occasion as the gentle warm up run itself.

The wind was the only negative, with organisers and runners alike hoping that it blows its course today.
