Marathon Mission Runners to the fore

At the Wodie’s DIY senior track and field championships held in Santry over the weekend a number of the Marathon Mission team produced very good performances.
Maria McCambridge (Letterkenny AC) was a clear winner of the women’s 5,000m in 16:19.78, Siobhain O\'Doherty (Borrisokane A.C) took the bronze in 16.59.92. Gary Thornton (Galway City Harriers) was a gun to tape winner of the men’s 10,000m in 29:18.88, he was followed home by Brian Maher (Kilkenny City Harriers) in 30.03.50
and Joseph Mc Allister (St. Malachy\'S) was third in 30.07.69. 5th was Barry Minnock (Rathfarnham W.S.A.F. AC)in 30.21.66 and 6th was Greg Roberts (City of Derry) who was running his first track 10K and was well pleased with 30.49.72. In the Sean Connolly (Tallaght A.C.) collected the bronze medal 14.10.93 behind Alistair Cragg (Clonliffe Harriers) who won in 14.04.64 and Joseph Sweeney (DSD A.C.) second in 14.07.44. This was Sean’s second 5K in two days having run 14:04 the previous night in Belgium.
