Marathon Mission Team set 5 new Personal Best\'s in Great North Run
The marathon mission 2012 team had a great outing in the Great North run in Newcastle to-day. They were lead home by Martin Fagan (Mullingar Harriers) recording a time of 63:24 to finish in 7th place. Gary Thornton (Galway City Harriers), followed Martins group and finished with 65:24 for 14th, they were followed by Joe McAliser (St Malachy’s), running 66:46 in 19th; next home was Greg Roberts (City of Derry)setting a P.B. of 67:23 in 21st, another P.B. of 68:12 was recorded by Barry Minnock (Rathfarnam/WSAF), in 23rd with Brian McMahon running 70:21 in 33rd. Another superb P.B. was set by Maria McCambridge in the ladies when she ran 74:32 to finish in 9th place. Catriona Jennings (Rathfarnam/WSAF), Barbara Sanchez (Raheny Shamrock) and Gladya Ganiel O\\\'Neil Abbey A.C.) ran together up to 15K. Caitriona finished the strongest when finishing 14th in a P.B. of 77:47, she was followed home by Barbara setting the 5th P.B for the team with a time of 78:06 for 16th place and Gladys in 18th running 79:20. Two places later Breege Connolly (North Belfast Harriers) had another fine run when finishing in 83:01. all of teh above coupled with Alan O\'Shea\'s 67:06 when winning the Race series Half is a good begining for the mission team.
