Marathon Mission Runners to the fore
Over the past number of weeks the Marathon Mission Team have returned with some very impressive results. In the Quantum Life Dungarvan 10 Mile on January 30, 2011 Siobhan O’Doherty lowered her PB to 56:28 for 10 Mile, she also completed the Bath Half Marathon on March 6th in 82 minutes. Gladys Ganiell, fresh from her 3rd placing in the Woodies Cross County championships last week, was also in Bath where she ran a PB of 75:48. The third member of the team to run in Bath was Sean Connolly who finished a very impressive 4th in a high class field. This was Sean’s debut over the half marathon distance and was very pleased to record a time of 64:38. Sean also had very good runs recently when finishing second in both Raheny 5 mile and Enniscorthy 10K. Alan O’Shea lowered his Half Marathon PB to 66:03 recently in Barcelona and also finished 2nd in Ballycotton 10 mile in 50 minutes. Lorraine Manning won the Malta Half Marathon on Monday, 28th February when she ran 75:33 to also lower her half marathon PB by over 3 minutes.
