Good performances by Marathon Mission Runners
Lorrainne Manning and Siobhan Doherty were in action first to-day in Paris. They passed half way together in 1.19.56, with Lorraine finish just one place better in 14th in a time of 2.44.29. Siobhan finished her debut marathon in a very impressive time of 2.45.27. Next up were Sean Connolly and Alan O\\\\\\\'Shea in Rotterdam. Sean was running his first marathon and set out at a very steady pace of 16.17 for the first 5K. He maintained this pace to reach half way in 68.41. Sean finished in 15th place in a time of 2.17.23. Alan started in the bunch close to Sean and finished in 23rd place in a time of 2.21.37. The race was won by Kenyan Wilson Chebet in 2:05:27 the fastest time for a marathon so far this year. In the final stage it was a two men battle between Chebet and compatriot Vincent Kipruto who finished six seconds back. Feyisa Lilesa a former winner in Dublin finished 8th having gone with the leaders up to 35K.The women\\\'s race was also a two sided affair. Dutchwoman Hilda Kibet who was leading from the beginning had no answer to the acceleration of Kenyan debuting Philes Ongori in te final stage. Ongori won in 2:24:20 leaving Kibet, who set a personal best of 2:24:27, seven seconds behind.
