Marathon Chosen as one of Dublin City Councils “flagship” Gatherings

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Naoise Ó Muirí officiated at the launch of the Dublin City Programme of Festivals & Gathering Events 2013 at City Hall. He announced that the Dublin Marathon is one of the main “flagship” events in receipt of funding from the IPB-Gathering fund.

He was be joined by Jim Miley, Project Director of The Gathering Ireland 2013 and Ronan Foley, Chief Executive of IPB Insurance at the launch.

The Lord Mayor said that Dublin City Council is proud to sponsor some major events in the City this year, including the Dublin Marathon. The Marathon will be extra special this year bringing home families and friends from abroad to participate and celebrate ‘The Gathering 2013’.
